Biography
Alicia Brown, like most mothers, balances many roles. She is a mother of four, songwriter, vocalist, professional, and happily married wife.
Prior to marriage and children, Alicia lived in New York City where she lived the "traditional" fast-paced city lifestyle. By day she was a successful business professional and in the evening she performed with numerous bands, appeared on VH-1 Born to Diva, WB11 Morning News, wrote songs for aspiring artists, and vocal coached domestic and international talent. She performed the National Anthem before a St. Louis Cardinals (MLB) and St. Louis Rams (NFL) game. While in New York, she also had the privilege of working on the staffing team for the American Redcross September 11 Recovery Program.
However, falling in love with her long time friend who she married, moved her from the big city to the deep south. She quickly found herself trading in those high heel pumps for tennis shoes (not even the stylish ones) and nights performing with live bands for laundry, housework, & being barefoot and pregnant. While enthusiatic about the opportunity to nurture and develop her own children, the realities of being a stay at home mom came quickly. She found herself asking what many moms ask during this transition, "What Happened to My Life???"
Instead of allowing the demands of these new responsibilities to completely overwhelm her, she decided to embrace NOT just endure motherhood and being a wife. This commitment to embracing her new season gave birth to Seasons of Motherhood, a blog, podcast, & music site where moms can find a place where they are understood, valued, and celebrated. She realized this season had a whole set of lessons and gifts that God had in store for her and she wasn’t going to miss out.
Today you’ll most likely find Alicia on the playground with the kids, going to every story time at the library, at a MOPS meeting, or writing a song in between laundry loads. While she has done a lot in her life, she notes her greatest accomplishment as accepting God’s calling on her life of being a mom of four beautiful children and wife to the best husband in the whole world.
