What is Seasons of Motherhood (S.O.M)
Dear Beautiful Mom,
Remembering to embrace, not just endure motherhood is so important, and that's what Seasons of Motherhood (SOM) is all about. Motherhood during the early stages can be overwhelming! When I became a mother, I had no idea I was in store for such a wonderful, redefining and challenging experience.
Daily I am humbled that God would choose me to impact the life of these wonderful people I am honored to call my children. Being connected to & hearing the stories of other mothers was tremendously helpful for me.
I thought you would have a few more questions, so I have attempted to answer a few of them below.
What is the SOM Vision
The Vision of Seasons of Motherhood (SOM) is to encourage mothers across the world who are in the early stages of this journey.
What will I find on the site
You'll find 3 main things on the site
1. Podcasts & a blog discussing motherhood topics that are informative, sometimes funny, and encouraging.
2. Downloads and music for moms & their children (coming mid 2010)
3. Creative ways for all of us moms to remember to embrace this season in our lives. (Participate in MOMORIES)
What if I have a story
We certainly want to hear from you. SOM will often feature moms on the site. We wholeheartedly believe that iron sharpens iron. As mothers, we can learn so much from each other! Email alicia@seasonsofmotherhood.org if you would like to share your personal story or if you have something you feel other mothers can benefit from knowing.
Is SOM another social networking site
NO. We think Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and a ton of other sites do an awesome job in that arena. We bring podcasts, interviews, information, etc. directly to moms. We aim to provide meaningful information that mothers in the early stages can access quickly to help them enjoy their experience hourly, daily weekly, monthly, yearly.......& for the rest of their lives. Bottomline, we exist to celebrate, encourage and equip moms in their mothering experience. We want them to know how extremely valuable they are to God, their families, and other mothers. Society doesn't gives moms the recognition they deserve, and we want to be the cheerleader for every mother connected to SOM!!
